Description

Ganga may seem reserved at first, but make no mistake, for she is sprightly. Her pallu conceals a sandy brown blouse with orange tones and a bold zari border. She is subdued but lively, tranquil yet vivacious in her own way, perceived in differing ways by everyone who meets her.

 Ganga has a heavenly soft cotton body, with pallu that starts off the same way before evolving into a sheer zari fabric. The blouse material is a sandy brown with orange tones, made of soft cotton for everyday wear. A silver zari border — Aconi’s rendition of the customary gold one — runs along the length of the saree, perfecting her timeless charm.

Ganga has been conceptualized by our team of designers and crafted with careful expertise by traditional weavers in the town of Maheshwar. An elusive twist on Maheshwari sarees, the complexity of the weaving techniques used is amplified through minute attention to details.

The warp threads on this saree (the vertical component of a weave) have been separated into three segments, creating three subtly different shades of yellow and orange towards the end of the zari pallu.

Contrary to popular belief about handloom sarees, this one does not require any elaborate maintenance.

This saree is named after one of the senior-most weavers on the Aconi team – Ganga. He has played a pivotal role in the making of the Royal Household collection and has been instrumental in each step of the process which brought it to completion.
