Six years ago, in the quaint town of Maheshwar, I met Girija Aunty. From the moment I arrived, she welcomed me with open arms, taking care of my meals, tea, and even providing a home away from home at House45. Despite her short stature and very thin body, Girija Aunty is incredibly fast and quick, radiating an energy that instantly makes you feel at ease.
Girija Aunty only speaks Neemari, the local language of Nimar. Despite my limited understanding of Neemari, we’ve always found a way to communicate. Our conversations are a delightful mix: she speaks in Neemari, and I respond in Hindi. This linguistic dance has led to countless funny and memorable moments, bridging the gap between our languages with laughter and understanding.
