Gayatri is woven in a beaming yellow silk fabric. Her pallu gleams in a deep brown, composed of twisting yarns, showing off a subtle gradient along its length. Her blouse is a rich brick brown silk fabric, gently caressing the wearer. A silver zari border — Aconi’s rendition of the customary gold one — runs along the length of the saree, perfecting her timeless charm.

Gayatri has been conceptualized by our team of designers and crafted with careful expertise by traditional weavers in the town of Maheshwar. An elusive twist on Maheshwari sarees, the complexity of the weaving techniques used is amplified through minute attention to details.

The threads in Gayatri’s pallu have been twisted in an alternating combination of dark and light colors, which create a gorgeous gradient effect in tints of deep brown.

 Contrary to popular belief about handloom sarees, this one does not require any elaborate maintenance.

This saree is named after Maharani Gayatri Devi, the queen and then the queen-mother of Jaipur. She was independent and chic and a revered fashion icon of those times. This saree pays homage to her modernity and the colors that usually adorned her.
