Description
Maya’s soft, cheery colors are easy to carry for hours on end in a lush silk body. And her silver zari border — the best kind of deviation from tradition. She will enthrall you, changing ever so slightly as she passes through the light.
Maya has a cotton-silk body, with a zari pallu and an orange blouse material in harmonious contrast. A silver zari border — Aconi’s rendition of the customary gold one — runs along the length of the saree, perfecting her timeless charm.
Maya has been conceptualized by our team of designers and crafted with careful expertise by traditional weavers in the town of Maheshwar. An elusive twist on Maheshwari sarees, the complexity of the weaving techniques used is amplified through minute attention to details.
The warp threads on this saree (the vertical component of a weave) have been separated into three segments, flaunting subtle color variations on the pleats.
Contrary to popular belief about handloom sarees, this one does not require any elaborate maintenance.
Maya is a part of the Tribhadra series in the Royal Household collection.
The word Maya means an illusion. As the light turns and changes, this saree gleams a little differently each time, creating a resplendent vision.
This saree is named after an incredibly hard-working weaver on the Aconi team who was instrumental in bringing this collection to life. Her story is of determination and grit. Maya came from a non-weaver family and had to teach herself the craft after she married. Starting from zero, and slowly growing through her skills and perseverance, Maya now owns and manages over 20 looms and weavers.
