Shalini is delicate, encompassing a multitude of personalities within her. She is versatile, melding festive and everyday occasions seamlessly. Her almost transparent pallu conforms to a variety of draping styles, each one making her more radiant than the next.

 Shalini has a cotton-silk body, in a muted khaki brown, with a full zari pallu and a deeper brown silk blouse material to match. A silver zari border — Aconi’s rendition of the customary gold one — runs along the length of the saree, perfecting her timeless charm.

 Shalini has been conceptualized by our team of designers and crafted with careful expertise by traditional weavers in the town of Maheshwar. An elusive twist on Maheshwari sarees, the complexity of the weaving techniques used is amplified through minute attention to details.

The warp threads on this saree (the vertical component of a weave) have been separated into three segments, conjuring up a harmonious palette of soft pinks and browns on the delicate, translucent pallu.

Contrary to popular belief about handloom sarees, this one does not require any elaborate maintenance.

 Shalini is a part of the Tribhadra series in the Royal Household collection.

This saree is named after Shalini Devi, a descendent of Ahilya Devi Holkar. This garment includes complex weaving techniques, and its name is a befitting tribute to the woman who revolutionized the narrative of local weavers in Maheshwar.
